1. To save time, organize all ingredients before beginning.

2. Coarsely chop the onions. At the same time, heat the oil on a medium-low heat.

3. Saute onions until translucent or for about 5 minutes. Add salt, pepper and chili powder.

4. Turn heat up to medium. Add the rest of the ingredients beginning with the ketchup.
Bring the sauce to a simmer, reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
