Roasted Slivered Almonds

Many people toast nuts in the oven but I prefer to do them on the stovetop in a medium sized skillet.

1. Place almonds in skillet over medium heat.

2. Roast and toss permitting color to change slowly.

To toss take the handle of the skillet and push it away from you forcing the contents forward to toss.

 

3. Roast until golden brown.

Allow nuts to cool completely before placing in a sealed container or Ziplock bag. Any residual moisture will ruin the almonds.
