Canning Pie Filling
Home canning pie filling is a fantastic way to
preserve fruit! In a pinch, just open it and pour it
into your pre-baked crust and go. Cook most pies
in the oven at 450 degrees for 30 minutes and then
cook them another 20 or 30 minutes at 350
degrees. Go to our
main fruit menu for fruit in
syrup or jam recipes.

Remember to follow food safety instructions and
select blemish free fruit. We always prefer organic
fruit without pesticides. We add lemon juice to most
recipes to help protect the color. If you are really
worried about the color of your fruit, use some
ascorbic acid.

We will provide the approximate weight per quart
jar for each fruit and tell you how long to cook it,
before using  the
hot pack method and then water
bath processing information.

Our pie filling recipes can be found in the fruit
directory of this website. Even for the seasoned
home canner,
Videos 1 and 2 are good refreshers
for safe home canning practices.
